Diablo 4 Rogue Build – Cyclone

Diablo 4 Rogue Build – Cyclone: In this Diablo 4 Endgame Rogue Build Guide, I’m going to show you my Cyclone Build which is the evolved version of the Poison Flurry Beginner Build. If you’re looking for a Diablo 4 Endgame Rogue Build that is aimed at World Tier 3, and one that annihilates enemies efficiently using tons of Vulnerable Damage and Poison, then this Diablo 4 Build Guide is for you!

Diablo 4 Rogue Build – Cyclone

The general strategy for this Diablo IV Build is somewhat similar to the previous Poison Flurry Beginner Build. You’ll usually want to group up enemies to save time from chasing after stragglers since you’re melee-focused. You can either start with Shadow Step or trigger Poison Imbuement coupled with Poison Trap. Using these 3 Skills and thanks to the Methodical Shadow Step upgrade, you’re able to Poison and Stun enemies, thereby helping you gain 3 stacks of the Momentum Key Passive fairly quickly.

Cyclone Diablo 4 Rogue Build in Combat

Momentum is essential for this Cyclone Diablo 4 Rogue Build because the moment you get all 3 stacks up and running, you not only reduce the damage you take to improve survivability but you also increase Movement Speed and Energy Regeneration. Energy regeneration is essential in order for you to constantly make use of Flurry, which is one of your major Skills. In relation to this, the Legendary Aspect that you must obtain is the Aspect of Encircling Blades. Doing so changes the playstyle of Flurry such that you’re not limited to attacking enemies in front of you, and instead, you also get to hit those around you.

Since you apply Vulnerable due to Puncture and because of the Improved Flurry upgrade, you can kill them very quickly. Improved Flurry makes it so that when you attack a Vulnerable target, nearby enemies hit by the same cast will become Vulnerable as well so they also take additional damage.

A Unique Item that’ll help make you stronger is the Grasp of Shadow. This grants improved Attack Speed, more Vulnerable Damage, and added Ranks of Flurry. And on Lucky Hit, damaging a Vulnerable enemy with Flurry has a 20-30% chance to summon a Shadow Clone that mimics your attack.

Diablo 4 Rogue Build - Grasp of Shadow to Summon a Shadow Clone to Mimic Your Attack

Given that the Cyclone Rogue moves extremely fast with a lot of hits upon Skill activation, you’re able to take advantage of the clone to assist you in combat. The idea here is to ramp up your Attack Speed to be able to dish out a ton of Vulnerable Damage to obliterate targets efficiently.

Skill Distribution

Each Diablo 4 Rogue Build comprises the 6 Active Skills they have equipped and changing these Skills can drastically alter the way the Rogue Class in Diablo IV plays. In this section, we’ll take a look at what Skills you should slot for the Cyclone Rogue Diablo 4 Endgame Build. By the time you reach Level 50, you’ll approximately have 56 points, assuming that you’ve accumulated enough Renown from different regions to gain 7 extra points. So your Skill distribution should look something like this:

LEVEL 50+ ROGUE SKILLS
 Skill Points Spent
 Puncture  1
 Enhanced Puncture  1
 Fundamental Puncture  1
 Flurry  8 (+3 from Gear)
 Enhanced Flurry  1
 Improved Flurry  1
 Shadow Step  1
 Enhanced Shadow Step  1
 Methodical Shadow Step  1
 Weapon Mastery  2
 Poison Trap  1
 Enhanced Poison Trap  1
 Subverting Poison Trap  1
 Exploit  3
 Malice  3
 Poison Imbuement  5
 Enhanced Poison Imbuement  1
 Mixed Poison Imbuement  1
 Deadly Venom  3
 Alchemical Advantage  3
 Debilitating Toxins  3
 Death Trap  1
 Prime Death Trap  1
 Supreme Death Trap  1
 Innervation  3
 Trap Mastery  3
 Aftermath  3
 Adrenaline Rush  3
 Momentum Key Passive  1

The above list gives you the general order to invest in Skills, but keep in mind that you should prioritize picking up new Active Skills over investing in passives, so pick up passives later if you can get new Active Skills when you level up.

Diablo 4 Cyclone Endgame Rogue Build – Skills

Death Trap, Poison Trap & Preparation

Now one huge difference in this D4 Rogue Build is that you’re going to swap Caltrops for Death Trap, allowing you to deal massive burst Shadow Damage. Not only are you able to pull in enemies but the Ultimate’s cooldown is also reduced every time an enemy is killed, which happens frequently. What’s more, is that investing in the Aftermath passive brings back 75 Energy whenever you cast Death Trap, making resource regeneration more manageable.

Cyclone D4 Rogue Build with Poison Trap to Deal Poison DoT

Additionally, you’re going to retain Poison Trap to severely weaken your targets by dealing Poisoning Damage Over Time (DoT). But instead of unlocking Countering Poison Trap, which provides a 30% chance to reset the cooldown of Poison Imbuement, you’re going to opt for Subverting Poison Trap. This makes it so that you deal increased Poison Damage to enemies standing in the AoE of your Poison Trap, and since you have Death Trap to pull them in initially or Shadow Step to momentarily Stun them there, you’ll be able to benefit from the amplified damage.

To solve the cooldown issue of Poison Imbuement, which is equal to 13 seconds, you’re going to swap Specializations from Combo Points to Preparation. The idea here is that every time you spend 100 Energy, Death Trap’s cooldown is reduced by 4 seconds. And when this Ultimate Ability is triggered, all the other cooldowns of your Skills will be reset, thereby allowing you to instantly use both Poison Imbuement and Poison Trap right after. It’s a game changer, and would often let you destroy any enemy within a matter of seconds!

Cyclone Diablo 4 Rogue Build - Preparation Specialization to Reduce Skill Cooldowns

And finally, because you have both Poison Trap and Death Trap, you’ll want to maximize the Trap Mastery passive. When either Skill is activated, you receive a 12% increased Critical Strike Chance against Vulnerable and CCed enemies for 4 seconds. Since you effectively apply and spread around the Vulnerable effect with Puncture and Flurry, impair targets with Shadow Step, and have high Attack Speed, your chances of landing crits become much higher.

Innervation & Adrenaline Rush

In terms of Energy management, you’ll first need to invest all 3 points to Innervation and Adrenaline Rush. Innervation is a Lucky Hit with up to a 30% chance to gain 8 Energy, which happens often because of your enhanced Attack Speed, whereas Adrenaline Rush grants 15% increased resource regeneration when you move.

Cyclone Diablo IV Rogue Build - Mother's Embrace Unique Ring to Restore Essence with Flurry

Now a great piece of Equipment to have to also consistently gain back Energy is the Mother’s Embrace Unique Ring, which you get at the end of the campaign. So for every enemy hit by Flurry, a portion of your resources are restored. And because of the Aspect of Encircling Blades, you’ll always gain a huge chunk of Energy back.

Flurry & Debilitating Toxins

When it comes to survivability, this Cyclone Diablo IV Rogue Build is pretty resilient. First off, you have the Enhanced Flurry upgrade, which heals you for a portion of your Maximum Life when attacking a Vulnerable or CCed enemy. Not only do you deal great damage with this Cutthroat Skill but you also restore Health along the way. The second is through the Debilitating Toxins passive, which reduces the damage you take from Poisoned enemies so basically all of them. And the third is via 2 Legendary Aspects, namely the Aspect of the Crowded Sage and the Aspect of Stolen Vigor.

The Aspect of the Crowded Sage heals you for every close enemy up to X Life per second. It considerably benefits this Cyclone D4 Rogue Build since you’re melee-focused so you’ll always be healed. Meanwhile, the Aspect of Stolen Vigor makes it so that each stack of Momentum Key Passive restores your Health per second. This happens all the time because you always hit the 3-stack maximum.

If you don’t manage to get your hands on the Aspect of Stolen Vigor, you can opt for the Aspect of the Protector, which instantly conjures a Barrier to absorb damage when you hit an Elite or Boss. You can get this by completing the Lost Archives Dungeon in Fractured Peaks.

Diablo 4 Cyclone Endgame Rogue Build – Equipment, Gems & Aspects

At World Tier 3, you’ll gain access to many items together with their bonuses. It can be challenging to determine the right ones to keep for your Diablo IV Rogue Endgame Build without the proper direction. So in this section, I’ll discuss the best gear bonuses you should chase after together with the Gems and aspects to place in them. Remember that you can replace unwanted affixes at The Occultist and upgrade your gear at The Blacksmith for the best results.

Weapon

For the Weapon, the bonuses you’ll want include the following:

  • Damage to Injured Enemies
  • Damage to Poisoned Enemies
  • Dexterity
  • Core Skill Damage
  • Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies
  • Damage to Close Enemies
  • Critical Strike Damage

The great thing with Rogues is they can equip 3 Weapons in order for players to benefit from the added gear bonuses and aspects. For this Cyclone Rogue Diablo IV Build, you’ll want to equip a Crossbow for the extra Vulnerable Damage and imprint the Aspect of Encircling Blades there to boost its effectiveness by 100% since it’s a Two-Handed Weapon.

Ideally, you’d want to wield 2 Daggers due to the increased Attacks per Second and Damage to Close Enemies but I have the Sword here. Its current affixes provide better Damage to Close Enemies and Critical Strike Damage bonuses combined compared to any other Dagger I’ve been getting.

Cyclone Rogue Build - Rapid Aspect for Puncture to Gain Increased Attack Speed

I highly suggest imprinting the Rapid Aspect and the Aspect of Unstable Imbuements on these two. Rapid Aspect boosts the Attack Speed of Puncture while the Aspect of Unstable Imbuements triggers an Imbued explosion to apply additional Poison and deal extra damage.

For the gem, it’s best to slot Amethysts to increase your Poison DoT.

Armor

For Armor, you have the Helm, Chest Armor, Gloves, Pants, and Boots. The major bonuses you’ll want here include the following:

  • Dexterity
  • Intelligence
  • Maximum Energy
  • Maximum Life
  • Damage
  • Damage Reduction from Distant Enemies
  • Attack Speed
  • Vulnerable Damage
  • Ranks of All Core Skills
  • Damage Reduction From Enemies That Are Poisoned
  • Dodge Chance Against Close Enemies
  • Dodge Chance Against Distant Enemies
  • All Stats

For this Cyclone D4 Rogue Build’s Boots, it’s good to have the Ravager’s Aspect, which lets you gain an additional Shadow Step charge by default. And every time you kill an enemy with this Skill, a charge is refunded. As such, you’re able to Stun multiple pesky targets or Elites as well as immediately save up 3 stacks of Momentum.

Diablo IV Raveger's Aspect to Gain an Additional Shadow Step Charge

For the gem, you’ll want to slot the Ruby to raise your Maximum Life.

Jewelry

For Jewelry, you have the Amulet and 2 Rings. The gear bonuses you’ll need include the following:

  • Strength
  • Damage with Dual Wielded Weapons
  • Poison Damage
  • Imbued Skill Damage

For your Amulet and Ring, you’ll want the Aspect of Corruption and the Aspect of the Expectant, respectively. The Aspect of Corruption makes it so that your Poison Skill effects become much more effective against Vulnerable enemies. As a result, they quickly become weakened, letting you attack with a few moves to finish them off.

Aspect of the Expectant to Increase the Damage of the Next Flurry Attack

On the other hand, the Aspect of the Expectant boosts the damage of Flurry when you repetitively attack them with Puncture first. This is going to come in handy if your Energy levels are low so while you’re in the process of restoring your resources, you can build up Flurry’s damage.

Diablo 4 Cyclone Endgame Rogue Build – Paragon

At Level 50, you unlock the basic Paragon board to further enhance your Diablo 4 Cyclone Endgame Rogue Build. I’m using the Tracker Glyph to raise my damage against Poisoned enemies. By having +25 Intelligence, the Poisoning damage effects last 33% longer. You should also invest in the Prime and Skillful Rare Nodes to boost your damage by allocating a lot of points to Intelligence together with Lawless to improve your Armor as long as you have a ton of Strength.

Exploit Weakness Rogue Paragon Board to Deal Increased Damage to Vulnerable Enemies

Next, you’ll want to take the Exploit Weakness Rogue Paragon Board, which lets you deal increasing damage against Vulnerable targets. The good Rare Nodes to unlock here are Exploit and Hunter Killer to further amplify your damage to Vulnerable and Injured enemies as well as Elites, respectively. If you’re encountering resilience issues, then you may want to allocate points to the Unassailable Node to gain additional Armor while reducing the damage you take from Vulnerable targets.

Final Tips

Remember that for this Cyclone Diablo 4 Rogue Build, the trick is to start off with Shadow Step or a combination of Poison Imbuement and Poison Trap. If you’re facing regular enemies, you can follow through with Puncture first to make them Vulnerable and then Flurry to destroy them. But if there are Elites or Bosses, be sure to activate Death Trap right after Poison Trap to pull all of them in an AoE. You’ll then be able to reactivate Poison Imbuement and Poison Trap to stack Poison DoT, followed by Puncture and repeated Flurries to finish them off.

Death Trap to Pull Enemies in and Deal Burst Shadow Damage

To improve your damage as your level goes higher, you must maximize the Exploit, Malice, and Deadly Venom passives. Exploit considerably raises your damage against Healthy and Injured enemies, allowing you to quickly weaken them whereas Malice boosts your damage when facing Vulnerable targets, which is all of them. And finally, there’s Deadly Venom to improve Poisoning damage.
